I have been using the Wii guitar and a program called Darwiin Remote to control Traktor. Darwiin recognizes the guitar as the "Classic" controller and then you simply assign the buttons as hotkeys.

Its worth noting that we will be releasing a nifty little program (similar to mini.Translator) that will take all the rock band guitars and convert all signals into useful midi (on the mac platform) that includes the tilt sensors in the neck which are killer for effects.

Sorry I re-read my post and realized I didn't finish my point about the guitar being better.

...so, what I meant is that the crowd can relate to a guitar better than to a little remote in your hand. With only the WII controller you look like you're a meth head shaking your fists at the crowd. You get my point.

That being said, the WII remote in the WII guitar has real comedic effect. Especially because it clearly looks like a toy... I think this was one of Ean's original complaints about the PS2 Rock Band guitar. It looks too real.

I like the guitar idea a bit better... I tried it out with the Rock Band PS3 guitar and it works great with any of the buttons in Traktor, but I had some trouble getting it to do anything really cool with effects because they use knobs.

Randomly, I was looking for scripts earlier this week and ran across the WIIJ site as well. It looks more promising for use with knobs, so I'm going to make a trip to Wal-mart today and get myself set up.

"Then again, if you happen to have one around any way it might make a fun toy to pull out once or twice during a set for an extra dash of wow factor." Thats exactly how i would plan on using one, they are really nothing special by themselves for an entire set. However it would be nice to pick one up in a set to help break things up give the crowd something else to be entertained with :) Ill have to pick myself a couple controllers so i can give it a go for myself.
