Its safe to say that the very DIY arcade button mod I did about a year ago kicked off this whole crazy site. As we have improved the site, so it seemed it might be time to also upgrade the old VCI. Its now equipped with a band new case, professional grade cutouts and a hi grade paint job that should last a lot longer than the first one. The point of this article is not to make you jealous, but instead to let everyone know I made 2 and the other one is on ebay right now.
There are 2 Black VCI-100 Special edition midi controllers on ebay right now.

In case you wanted to take a look, here is a video showing off my new VCI-100 and the one up for sale.

mmm…I want. I will have to watch these auctions, because I doubt I’ll actually be able to afford them. If I was working and getting paid, then sure…but right now, I’m living off my savings. Damn.
i´m intent how this ends :)
I’ve been visiting DJ Techtools for months now, and, this makes me want to dust off my eBay account and try my luck.
ObTrainspot: Si Begg - “Bangin (Original Mix)”. See also “Pete Fucking Tong” off that EP.
Hey Ean,
Diggin’ the new unit, looks so fresh and clean!
Quick question though, are those smaller arcade buttons than what you used in your original mod? If so what are they called? Thanks for any info, I’m looking into paying someone to do this mod for me!
haha i see what you’re doing here!
this is just advertising for your ebay auctions!
tisk tisk :P
Great Shirt
Those are the same size arcade buttons as before but they did come from a different company that has a wider range of colors.

@ Obsidiance,
Um, its not exactly advertising but a pubic service announcement. wouldn’t you want to know we put up a arcade button vci for sale? Besides, after 1 year of free dj articles, don’t you think promoting a product that actually helps pay for the expenses around here is appropriate?
nice!!! thats sweet!!
Very nice!
Of course Ean i was only saying that tongue-in-cheek!
Maybe I’m just unhappy I don’t have the money to buy either of them at the moment :(!
Ean, Can you please share again what button model you chose? Do you know of any translucent or LED models that will work?
Many thanks! I have kit envy!
Wait, what is that around the outer ring of the platter of your VCI? Some kind of grip tape?
Very nice upgrade from the original upgrade. The multi color arcade buttons are out but the mono color, looks slicker. The freaking controller looks like a black hawk helicopter. Hope the item makes for a great auction, because it will give more prestige to those lucky vci-100 se owners. Also it gives djtechtools.com more exposure. Keep them coming Mr. golden.
P.S.
Dont forget the upgrade arcade buttons kit.
Yeah, that’s what i’m waiting for as well: The arcade buttons upgrade kit
tell us more about the grip on the jog wheels please…
That is a slick looking unit. Nice job Ean.
Those grips are a new product that we will be announcing very soon! Its called Jog Grip and they increase the pitch bend area of the vci-100 while improving the handling of the wheel.
loving the Jog Grips!
i want a pair!
sounds awesome Ean, i think you already mentioned those in the forum.. I just failed to make the correlation.. either way I can’t wait!!!
Hey Ean,
Nice upgrade! I am wondering if you could one day offer a VCI-100 upgrade kit and instructions of how to add these buttons. In your upgrade does your pitch slider control not have a 50% stop/ click like the on the standard VCI-100? Are these the buttons you use?http://lizardlick.com/images/for_sale/pushbuttons/sanwa_obsf30_kdh.jpg
