Btw, any news of that smart mixer setup for Live 7? I tried emailing that guy and asked if he could put me in touch with the person that had implemented it with the Sonalksis comp, but no luck. I'm very interested in the Sonalksis version, but have no time nor expertise to do one on my own.</blockquote>

No news as of yet :(
I have been putting a lot of thought into how i want this to work in my own setup so i am contemplating restructuring the live smart-mixing. If i do i will certainly take a look at upgrading the Smart-Mixer to Live-7.

I agree that its important to note the effect that changing the phase can have on the sound *thumbs up*.

I'm loving the website. So much good information, even for a beginner like me. Thanks from Brazil.

Thanks! This can be useful in other ways too, like testing mixing hardware and software precision, and also getting used more quickly to different controllers and sensibilities setting.

I really thought that it was important to say that moving the phase and the speed during your mix can alter its sound a lot. It comes of its own accord with turntables, but we're going to see more and more new DJs that have learned their trade on software.

This might be the reason why some old schoolers don't like automated mixing, they have developed an ear and a taste for manual beatmatch, have seen what it can do, and may fear that it become lost. Or they may simply feel that something they unconsciously have come to know and love is lacking, I don't know.

Lol, a trainwreck isn't a trainwreck when it is done on purpose. Or if you can catch up well enough after it to make the audience think it was all done purposely :)

Great tutorial Nico! I'm an old school vinyl DJ who has embraced the digital DJ aspect as well... IMHO, The "Sync" button is just another tool... Just like effects, contactless faders, etc... they are all advancements in technology that help us! Use them...

On a sidenote... Now every time I trainwreck a mix I can just say, "Hey man, those beats aren't outta sync! I was just expressing myself artistically!"
