On the topic of sexy controllers my friend pointed me in the direction of the OTUS USB DJ controller it is pretty attractive but does anyone know if it is any good? Any lucky people managed to get there hands on one?

Search for Otus and you will find lots of info here on DJ TEch Tools about that controller. They are not available yet to the public.

what is the different between the upgrade plate and normal plate?

The upgrade plates have all the functions of the "Ean Golden Special Edition" listed on them. Its for those that want to use that layout with existing VCi-100's
