Thanks to all of you for your patience- finally the forum is up and running. Its been a very exciting time watching our little community grow and enjoying to passion that everyone contributes to the posts. Ultimately, a community is defined by group participation and our numbers speak volumes. Currently DJ TT has just under 100 posts and 1600 comments!
Comments alone wont cut the mustard though, so for a while I have been trying to figure out ways to give our readers the ability to start their own discussions and write articles themselves. The forum is a important first step, and next I am working on some very exciting ways to involve you even more.

Deck a Dance may be the only dj software out there that can run inside Ableton Live but you can virtually put any software into the powerful audio engine with a free plug in. Cycling 74, the masterminds behind max msp, offer soundflower which creates a virtual audio engine within your macintosh environment.
“To send the output of one application to another, select Soundflower as the output device in the first application and Soundflower as the input device within the second application.” Continue reading ‘Route any dj software into Ableton’
The most exciting thing to come out of Musik Messe 2008 happened far away from the pounding sound systems of the Dj floor but this revolutionary concept will seriously rock the dj and remix world as we know it. Celemony, a German software company, has announced “Direct note access” which gives you control over each and every note in a multi voice recording. Intended for polyphonic sound sources like piano chords or string ensembles, you can pick out any note or notes from a stereo recording and transpose them as you see fit. In one example, the white bearded mastermind behind this technology demonstrated its power on a classic Beethoven recording. “Lets see what would happen if Beethoven had written this piece in minor” he suggested, and within seconds was playing a full symphonic recording back in a different key with no audible degradation to the sound.

I don’t think anyone can deny how much fun the ubiquitous Guitar Hero and Rock Band games are. They completely transform gaming into an interactive experience that throws away all the stigmas. You may remember I have been using rock band guitars as a dj controller and some may have even noticed the dj syle controller for rock band on you tube. Activision appears to be melding these concepts into the logical result, a dj hero game. Ripten, a gaming blog, has reported they even filed a patent for the concept many folks have been suggesting for months. Honestly though, who would actually play it and how in the world do they implement it? Crab scratch notation?

Sorry for the problems we had with our server last Friday folks. Its frustrating when everything does not work according to plan but these are good problems to have. We underestimated the traffic and PayPal gave us incorrect information about what would happen if we suddenly sold that much product in one hour. The good news is that the server is ready to go and we are now using our own payment service which will not place any limits on the store. So without further ado the webstore is back open for sales with more very exciting Dj Tech Tools coming your way soon.
Well, this has been an exciting morning and basically our own personal episode of 24 (if only I had Jack Bower to raid the PayPal offices). We apologize for the inconvenience but due to the traffic our servers went down and then PayPal put a hold on our account due to the high volume in purchases. WE had to stop the purchasing process early Friday morning but the webstore will be back up and all problems solved on monday.
If you already purchased a vci-100 Today (Friday)
Your purchase has gone through and you have one of the 100 units. Please disregard the reports earlier that called for a possible refund and then re-charge on Monday. We sent out emails to all confirmed purchases to verify receipt but some people may not have received them due to spam filters. If you received an email confirmation of your purchase from Pay-Pal then you are on the list.
If you did not get a chance to buy one before the store was closed:
The Web store will be back up on Monday morning at 10:00AM Eastern Standard Time (New York). There are still about 50 units left so those that slept in will get another shot at it :-)

Well, its not much of a store. No fancy racks and only one product but all good things start small. We don’t plan on becoming the Amazon of djing, just slowly building a few well thought out things that a few people need. To kick it off, we are accepting pre-orders for the much anticipated special edition vci-100 here at the Dj Tech Tools web store

First off, thanks for your patience. We all want things to happen fast but sometimes it takes a little extra time to make good things happen. This is certainly a good thing, and its because of all the emails you guys sent to distributors and the community of dj tech tools this special edition vci-100 is happening for real.
The web store for pre-orders is getting the final touches and will be up on Friday morning. In the mean time here is the information you have all been waiting for:

Frankfurt, Germany. Once a year, inside a massive series of connecting halls, music companies from around the world converge for the European version of NAMM. All of the dj brands are accounted for, and we were expecting working models of many of the new controllers that premiered at NAMM. Sadly, only the VCI-300 was really in testing condition. Many of the new dj items we wanted to get our grubby little hands on were not functional or barely working. Some, like the Numark Ns7, were still in the exact same condition as NAMM, under a protective sheet of glass.
